#Apple users frustrated with the company's support of #fascism or the state of the OS, have you begun to explore other software/cloud options you can use to disentangle yourself? These options do exist and many of them are excellent. No, they are not identical to what you are used to using with iCloud, but don't claim the only other option is Google/Microsoft and give up.

You can change the #tech you use but it does require effort. This is something you control.

Take your time. Don't stress it. But know, the options are there. Continue using your #Apple hardware with the new services. Take a look at Proton that offers fully private, encrypted services that include email, password management, cloud storage/drive with shared/collaborative documents. Ente.io offers a secure, encrypted cloud photo service. Both of these companies offer a free tier so you can get a start and test them. Both offer apps for iOS and macOS.

This is doable-you really can do it!

It may take weeks or even a couple months. But at the end of the process your #tech will be more ethical and less bound to the support of a fascist regime. Your data will still be private and secure, perhaps more so as it will no longer be bound to data stored in the US.

You know this but I'll say it anyway, iCloud, Apple Music and TV are all optional services. Your devices will still work with the free iCloud plan (or no iCloud) and your data transferred.

A part of breaking Apple's hold on us is that we stop promoting them. Don't give them air time by mentioning them unless it's to criticize them. Same for any other big US tech.

The whole Apple enthusiast culture helps hold the company up and it's something that should be actively dismantled. Do the opposite. Get free of them and share your process and progress. Actively discuss the alternatives that are working for you.

Our choices and our support add up. Our numbers matter. Be one less.
