It may take weeks or even a couple months. But at the end of the process your #tech will be more ethical and less bound to the support of a fascist regime. Your data will still be private and secure, perhaps more so as it will no longer be bound to data stored in the US.

You know this but I'll say it anyway, iCloud, Apple Music and TV are all optional services. Your devices will still work with the free iCloud plan (or no iCloud) and your data transferred.

#Apple users frustrated with the company's support of #fascism or the state of the OS, have you begun to explore other software/cloud options you can use to disentangle yourself? These options do exist and many of them are excellent. No, they are not identical to what you are used to using with iCloud, but don't claim the only other option is Google/Microsoft and give up.

You can change the #tech you use but it does require effort. This is something you control.

The design of the Cinnamon Desktop on #Mint is fantastic with easy to use UI that's not enshitified by a company that produces things like Liquid Glass because they've got to always be shitting out the next new thing because profit, profit, profit.

There is no Wall Street/ shareholder pleasing going on.

This is an OS and software ecosystem by and for users, NOT constant grift and rent seeking.

No ads, no intrusion, no #surveillance.

Going forward I would expect #Apple, #Google, #Microsoft, etc, etc to only do worse things. Capitalists doing capitalism. The priority will always be profit. Just begin a process away from the services of #bigtech companies. Just make an effort to switch some services. You're not helpless. It does not have to be all or nothing.

- Proton instead of iCloud
- Ente for cloud photos
- If you have an old computer you're not using install GNU/Linux Mint, it's far better than you think.
