I think this is the best shot from this morning's hike. I recognize moss, little bits of lichen, but fungal "teeth"? No idea.

moss, lichen, and then rows of "skeleton white" teeth looking things that don't quite touch each other leaving some cool negative space black outlines.

It rained for most of January and February here, which I assume is why the woods and wetlands are looking especially mossy now

A close-up of a small clump of green moss on a vertical grey twig. It's maybe a bristle-moss. Clusters of bright green tendrils, interspersed with brown, elongated spore capsules catch the light from above

A large, sturdy tree (an oak I think), with a profusion of crooked, bare, moss-green branches reaching out over a still pool. A pair of mallard ducks stand on the bank in the leaf litter beneath the tree. In the background, a clump of brown reeds fills the centre of the pool, which is enclosed by a dense, bare woodland
