So, you live in the US and you want to be less exposed to #ICE #surveillance. It's been fairly well reported by 404 Media, Wired and others that ICE has ramped up its ability track our daily movement/location thanks to the our willingly carrying self-surveillance/tracking devices. Why make it easy for them? Why self-report to fascists? This is not a requirement.
Here's how we stop self-surveillance in several fairly easy steps...

Note, you can continue using your current smart phone. Also, this should work for both Android and iOS. I've got an iPhone so that's what I know best. Also, this isn't difficult and it will likely even save you money. Implement and test in phases.
This does require that you purchase a subscription through the Apple App store. I hate that. It's the only money they continue to get from me.

1. Install the MySudo app from the Android or Apple app store.
2. Purchase a subscription. The base is $1.99/month only offers 100 messages and 30 minutes of talk time and probably won't be enough. I've got the $4.99/month which is cheaper if a year is bought instead of monthly. It's 200 minutes and 300 messages, more than I need. You may need the $15/month plan for unlimited. Start small and test it.
3. With the subscription purchased set up your VOIP phone number.

4. Now you can make and receive calls over the internet via WiFi or cellular to any phone number. Your standard phone carrier has no knowledge of these calls. Assuming a good internet connection, the calls are crystal clear, comparable to making a Signal or FaceTime audio call. But with a phone line to other phone lines.
Benefit: No call log kept by a phone company that will share your data with ICE. You can read more about MySudo call data and meta data.

Assuming you have a fairly recent smart phone that supports eSIM purchase one and a small bit of data from a company like KeepGo that offers the Triangulum eSIM and several others, pick based on the network that works best in your area. You'll spend $3 to 5 for 1GB of data that never expires. If you're careful to only use this data for calls it will last for quite awhile. There are a lot of eSIM providers, shop around.
6. Once purchased, activate your eSIM.

7. Once you've activated your eSIM you can go to settings and there will be a toggle to turn on that line. Turn off your other cellular line provided by your original carrier and your wifi. Confirm that the new line works. You are now less surveilled.
8. When at home, keep your phone in airplane mode. Use WiFi. Make/receive phone calls with MySudo. No easily accessible call logs for ICE. No location tracking for your original carrier to give ICE.

9. When you leave home turn off wifi and leave your phone in airplane mode unless you NEED to make/receive calls/texts while driving, etc. Congrats, you are now moving around town without reporting location to ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc. Nice!
10. Need to make a call or expect a call or texts? Turn off Airplane mode and confirm that only your new eSIM is active. You can use MySudo to do normal phone calls/texts with your new MySudo number. Or use Signal for the same stuff.
