⚠️ If you @ someone in a post on Mastodon, that person will be notified and they will be able to see that post. This happens no matter what visibility you're using for your post, even if it's a DM or a followers-only post.
So, be really careful if you @ someone!
If you want to mention an account without the account seeing the post, replace the @ signs with the word AT before you publish, and make sure you're using a non-public visibility like followers-only or DMs.

If there's a post or reply in your timeline and you want to see the full discussion thread it comes from, just click in the middle of the post or reply.
Clicking a post or reply will take you to the full thread that it is part of. Once you're in the thread, you can scroll up or down to see the rest of the thread.
To see every branch of the thread, click on the post at the very top of the thread.
In case you missed it, there's an 👁️ eye icon in the top right corner of post threads viewed through Mastodon's web interface.
Clicking the eye to toggle it on or off reveals or hides all the content warnings in that thread. It saves a lot of time as you don't have to open each post one at a time.
Alternatively, you can set your account to automatically show all posts with content warnings.
