There鈥檚 a myth in the US that the only way to enact change is to elect sympathetic politicians and hope they do the right thing. But history shows that the most effective way to get politicians to act is to disrupt economic activity. Strikes, boycotts, sabotage, and other organized disruptions have overwhelmingly been the primary catalysts behind every major legislative action that has benefited the public.

@benlockwood I recently joined and am suggesting that folks join the DSA. I'm not sure there is any other US organization with 100,000 members that seeks to organize at multiple levels from community mutual aid, labor and electoral. There's a lot of energy there and they've got a solid track record linking a range of working class issues.

We need to get beyond the usual piecemeal reformist efforts and really confront the root cause of our many problems: #Capitalism.
