@Gargron Now I understand how @pluralistic can write so much---the ideas were pouring out of him almost faster than I could follow. I know he gets a lot of practice, but still, it's amazing to watch.
@Gargron I love listening to @pluralistic speak. That dude makes me feel like I'm barely past the "swinging in the trees" stage of evolution, but it's so much fun. It's great to see him on shows like The Daily Show.

@Gargron Okay, so I'm on mastodon, but I didn't know some poeple (Doctorow) consider Threads, Bsky, & ... even Trothe Cential [sic] to be Mastodon servers? I guess they do maintain a lot of the API, just not enough or in a way to satisfy a lot of people?
(But of course in the case of Trothe Cential [sic], statistically no fediverse servers actually try to access them.)

Yeah, and I've never heard anybody consider Threads or Bluesky as Mastodon servers. Opinions differ as to whether they should be considered part of the fediverse, but they don't have anything to do with Mastodon.
(Trothe Cential [sic] on the other hand does run code that was forked from Mastodon a whjile ago.)
